Sorry That you feel that way but you are highly mistaken about us being babies. If it is working fine for you that is great, but for others it can really take a toll (the side effects.) This is a site to inform not scare and for mature adults not kids wanting to lash out for a attention. I truly hope you cont. to have a great experience using mirena. Thank you....................

I'm glad the Mirena is working for you and I thought it was working for me up until I read these women's side effects (they were the same as what I was experiencing and I went searching for answers never really thinking it was the IUD). When I went to have mine out my Nurse Practiciener said I was the 3rd women she's seen if a few months that has had the same problems and also all have the IUD. Also I did not have a problem with it being inserted or with other pain just some of the other side effects. Every women's body deals with synthetic hormones differntly.

NOBODY SAID ANYTHING ABOUT PAIN!!!!! Im not having pain. Im having side effects. No one is crying about anything hurting. Im glad it is working great for you. But, you must have some kind of doubt if you are on the site and researching it.

unless i'm mistaken this is a site for people experiencing side effects, which all these ladies have including myself. for some people the effects of mirena are so bad it is having huge effects on their lives. you're lucky to be having no side effects but for lots of women with it, life isn't so rosy!! considering alot of the posts on here are hugely similar these side effects are very real so please think about that before you tell people they 'suck'. this site has been a place of support for hundreds of women with these effects giving comfort that they are not the only ones. its clearly not the site for you!!!!!

agree. This site is for ppl who really have problems with the mirena. There is no reason to come on here screamin at ppl that we're babies, etc. b/c we have problems with the mirena. Glad its going good for you, but one day you might have a problem with yours and you just might find yourself on here too looking for answers like the rest of us....

jamieb02--it's not that people aren't allowed to express themselves. It's about HOW they express their opinion. I have had problems as have many women, but I also realize many women have not had problems or have not attributed the problems they do have to mirena. I don't call them names or tell them they're trying to convince people to get it inserted.
AND for missie, I hope that you NEVER experience 1/2 of what I and others have gone through. I had two mirena for over 51/2 years and the only reason I realized Mirena was indeed the problem--after removal almost all of the problems disappeared and am almost 100% BETTER. COINCIDENCE--I DON'T THINK SO. Wellness to all.

Terrible sweats at night, waking up wet!
Very moody
Anxiety & possibly depression (that I still have & am now having to seek councilling for, despite NEVER having had it before I had the mirena.
Nausea
Shooting pains in my legs
Excruciating cramps, so bad that one time I almost dropped my baby daughter
A terrible infection that I had 3 different antibtiocs for (all at the same time) just finished them today, 2 weeks post removal!

Good for you honey.... just hope that you dont end up like me and many other people with no health insurance and the doctor telling you your IUD has to be surgically removed because the strings have disinigrated. And before they refer you to surgery they will try to remove the IUD anyways with a hook while opening your cervix.....and let me add you will be given no anesthesia, your legs and arms will go numb and you will scream because it is the worst pain ever. And then you will finally blackout because you can no longer handle the pain and when you wake up you have to be driven home and put to bed begin you cant find your composure for the rest of the evening. And it really sucks having to fork over $3000 to the hospital when you have no insurance and cannot be insured due to pre-existing conditions. So maybe you should put your foot in your mouth. This board is here for a reason....to inform people of the things your doctor wont speak of.
