Wow - I'm so glad I found this site. I am 43 years old and had a PE last August in both lungs - every test imaginable has been done and still no idea why I got the PE. I should be on Warfarin for the rest of my life but I can't stand it much longer. I have headaches every day, cold sweats, dizziness, can't remember things, can't concentrate at work and the WEIGHT GAIN! My doctor just tells me to eat healthier but watch those leafy greens! I get no support at all from her. She also put me on Cipralex for depression and I'm now considering going off both medications and seeing a Naturopath. I'm sick of feeling like I'm 80. L.

Hi. I am 50 ( male ) I also had a PE in my left lung only and I also thought for no reason but when I came out of hospital I then looked back and studied any change in lifestyle. I was suprised that I could detect about two or three things that were changes from the norm and the more I thought about it - the more I was convinced that these changes were the cause of the clot.
Have you done the same - in studying your activities up to the problems you had. I find the doctors in general not very helpful with my health and wellbeing - mainly because they don`t seem to have the time to spend on explaining my condition to me. Are your doctors any different towards you, I would not stop taking the med if I were you - just have a word re cutting down the doseage maybe. Are you taking anything that might be affecting the med. Don`t do anything sudden that may cause you more problems than you already have - be careful messing with the warfarin dose especialy from a lot - to none at all. Take care. Ivan.

Thanks Ivan...you have given me something to think about. I had started on an anti-anxiety med a few months before my PE and the cardiologist in the hospital wanted me to stop it, but my family doctor insisted that I stay on it. Now I'm kind of wondering if it could be more of an issue than I thought. My family physician doesn't seem to know much about my PE, when I have questions, she looks things up on the Internet which is a little unsettling. I know that they are no "documented" side effects to the medication that I'm taking, but hey..that's what they say about Warfarin right? And yet..there are hundreds of people on these message boards all complaining about the same side effects. I'm trying to make an educated decision about these meds. I've decided to consult with my thrombosis specialist and see what a naturopath has to say before I quit anything cold turkey. I don't want to go through another near death experience, believe me! The support from these message boards is a great help I must say...it's nice to hear from others who have been there! Thanks again! L.
