I was looking through these posts on the side effects of the NR to see if anyone had a similar experience to mine, and found yours. The main reason I use BC is to control my hormones and eliminate breakouts and acne. I am 38 and have been mostly on BC for over 20 years. The pill has done an amazing job to cure that. But recently I switched over to the NR from the pill about 3 months ago, mostly so that I wouldn't have to remember taking the pill everyday. The NR is great for that one reason, and I think for that reason only.

Since I've been on it my face has been breaking out with little pimples during ovulation and it's mostly worse with the skin on my upper chest, back and shoulders - which never really goes away during my cycle. I thought I would give it another month to see if my body just needs to get used to it. But knowing that you're having similar issues, I will most likely resort back to the pill. And clear up my skin before summer and swimsuit weather! Also, the discharge issue is another thing I'm not willing to put with just to use this product. yuck.

ya. After a month on nuva ring my face broke out like crazy. I got a lot of huge, irritating pimples on my chin. It was all hormonal acne which was caused because my body was really sensitive to the hormones, and it was adjusting to it. It lasted for like 1-2 months, but after that, all my acne was cleared up, and I haven't really had any problems with it since, and Ive been on it for almost a year. However, I recently decided to stop using it b/c it caused me to have like no sex drive, and i dont see the point of sex without that.

I've had the NR in for less than two weeks and the acne breakouts are terrible and getting worse and I'm 40 and have never had this type of acne, ever. Also I put NR in on day 1 of my cycle and my flow was light, but I am having constant bleeding for the last two weeks. I'm taking it out and going to try Mirena IUD.
