Not sure but didn't have a problem with sugar until a month after starting Lipitor 80mg. Leg muscles feel like they are going to cramp when I move quickly and I now have much fatigue both muscles and general. AND, I now have to start Metformin for diabetes. No history of diabetes in my family and I am not much overweight and get loads of exercise. I am wondering if the Lipitor could have contributed to the diabetes?

I suggest that you stop taking Lipitor ASAP. This dangerous drug can cause MANY side effects. I doubt that it caused your diabetes. Drs. are drug-happy. There are many natural products to help health issues.

taking high dose of lipitor will show the side effect much quiker than low dose .so the best way to know about your blood sugar try to stop it and see if the symptom goes away that would be definately lipitor .if you continue with high dose for few months you will difinately see much more side effect including back and shoulder pain ,muscle weakness ,and nerve problem .good luck
