I have also had the dryness and burning from sex. It does get better if you take it out which the doctor and Nuvaring website says is ok for up to 3 hours. I was wondering if you also experience discomfort with digital 4-play. I certainly do, and I always enjoyed it before. Have you noticed any decrease in sex drive? I'm having a hard time determining whether the decrease sex drive is from the hormones of the ring, or from my connection between sex and pain i've made after being on it for 9 months, but only sexually active for 3 months. Just looking for someone who may be able to relate. I thought something was wrong with me.My boyfriend was so disheartened that he hurt me every time we did it. So glad to hear I'm not the only one.

It did not matter if I took out the ring for three hours or not..the burning was always there no matter what. I always took it out during sex and put it back in after rinsing it with warm water as directed. I feel so much better now but am having a terrible period so far amd wonder how I willl feel after it is over. I do not do digital 4-play but anytime I put my own finger in there to adjust the ring or check discharge I would feel a burning sensation and the enteryway was always sore. As far as I am concerened its all the ring symptoms. I never wanted to have sex either and that is not me at all. At first I thought it was just b/c college is so much work but it was the damn ring b/c I feel my urge coming back. I don't know how old you are but I remember when I became sexually active. i have the brown blood too, but the thing is, ive been bleeding even though the ring has been in this whole time! My dr. told me to leave it in all month and change it after 30 days. The box says to take it out for a week, my doc said if i dont want a period to leave it in. Ive had it for about a year now, and now im done. i took it out tonight (Wednsday), i already feel better...i was really worried for a while.
