I took 400 mg of Topamax for about 5 months for migraines. It did help some when seroquel and verapimil were added to it at the end. I had a severe psychotic reaction and was diagnosed as bipolar. The dr wanted to put me on a high dose and let me spend the rest of my life twiddling my thumbs rather than admit Topamax was the cause. These psychotic event have been documented since the 90's. It took me 3 years to regain my typing ability. I still scramble some words 4 years later. I proof read, but I may have missed some errors in this post. Thanks you Topamax!!

I've been taking Topamax for 6 months now, I take 1 pill (100mgs) at bedtime. Sense I've been on Topamax I've lost 23 pound (before taking Topamax I was 120 pounds) which has now become a health issue for me. I too have a bit of trouble with my typing and spelling, I now find myself having to look even simple words up in my pocket dictionary I keep on my desk and even asking my kids how to spell certain words. I proof read all the papers I have to type up making sure of the spelling, proper endings are added like ING (HAVING), S (WORDS), 'VE (I'VE), or N'T (DON'T) to words and haven't forgotten to put a word say in a sentence or paragraph that should be there.
