Thank God my husband figured it out; googled medications/mirena side effects & came across this web site on April 2nd of this year!!! I knew something drastic was going on with me both physically & mentally (so did my husband) but we just couldn't put our fingers on it; each & every day got worse! I was never told of ANY side effects! I would have to write a book to explain the last two years of my life with Mirena but I will spare you. I am basically a very strong woman; both physically & mentally & I am amazed that something like this can cause such horrible physical & mental side effects in a woman's body & mind. I had Mirena in April of 2007 due to dealing with endometriosis my whole life (I am now 43; you name it, I have tried it. I have no children due to endometriosis.) After reading about the side effects on this web site & realizing what has been happening to me over the last two years, April 9th, 2009 I had it taken out. After four/five hours of having it removed I could feel a difference both mentally & physically; my husband said he could see a difference in me as well. I cannot EVEN express to you how great it is to have myself back! :) My husband is also thankful! Had it not been for my husband looking into this, I would STILL be suffering from the nightmare Mirena had caused me both physically & mentally. Although I will never get back the last two years of my life (that I describe as pure physical & mental hell) & I really dread having to deal with endometriosis; losing a week out of every month, being bed-ridden in pain, it will be better than what I have been dealing with on a daily basis from Mirena; that is how horrible this product is! I usually don't tell anyone what to do or not to do when it comes to medical issues because what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another BUT this product is different; much different! There needs to be serious warnings about Mirena. If you haven't already; do not have it put in, if you have; take it out immediately!! Do not waste one more day of your life!!
