a little update. i took 5 mg lisinopril for 3 days, had blood work done on Monday and afterward, took the 4th pill. so the bloodwork reflected only 3 pills of 5 mg each. my potassium level, which right before starting lisinopril, was 3.9- was suddenly 6.4. doctor called Tuesday, told me to stop taking lisinopril, come in for an EKG and have more blood work done on Thursday, 3 days after stopping he just called to tell me that my potassium levels are back to normal

accupril NZ's version of Lisinopril gave me shocking cough for a year shooting pains in neck & shoulder, freezing cold white finger tips and toes, jaw and tooth pains. After I dropped the 6 medicines i was on and bought my own blood pressure meter I found I actually have low blood pressure, low heart rate 48 beats a min and 6 months later have no arrythmias at all. All my troubles were caused by the original statin I was put on. At 49 yrs, 6 yrs ago I went for a check up with nothing wrong. I was started on the statin within 6 months I was coming out of the chemist every 3 months with a huge bag of "wonderful safe medicines" that almost killed me. Good luck with your dad and I assume you know about coq10 and fish oil for him. CU.
