Hello all I have read some of the post here. Now I must say it has been nice having the mirena but at the same time difficult. My husband sometime complain that he can feel the string and that it feels like something is sticking him which is uncomfortable for him but not all the time. Every since I have had the mirena which was inserted 10/2008 I have been having severe chest pain. It basically feels like somebody is sitting on my chest. I went to the ER one morning because it felt like I was having a heart attack <---which would be abnormal for a 28 year old. I got a chest x-ray and everything and they linked it to stress. So I just let it go. Months go by and I still feel this heavy feeling on my chest now which is accompanied by the fluttering of my heart. I have also noticed my hair falling out since having the mirena. Needless to say I am getting it out tomorrow and I am going back to what I know the depo shot. Good luck to the select few women who this birth control method work for. But it did not work for me as far as the side affects go.
