i have a thyroid disorder. since september 2008 i have been dealing with thyroid issues. these caused head aches..and migraines. i have been on many drugs for the pain. i have gained a total of 20 lbs since then. i have NOT been on birthcontrol for almost a year. i have not had a normal period. last friday i started to bleed.. and soak a pad every hour and a half. for 3 days this happened. i went to the emergency room they told me to follow up with my OB b/c they saw nothing wrong. I should say i had highblood pressure the two days before 155-94 and felt like i was going to die. my dr has told me b/c of my migraines..and heart issues (im off the migraine meds b/c of my heart issues) i only have two choices. mirena..or sterilization to stop the heavy bleeding.. from reading these posts.. i think ill opt for the heavy bleeding until im either ready to have kids..or get to old to not want them anymore. im 30 now.
