My daughter has just had 4 days off school after reacting really badly to piz buin sun block (with Helioplex) I have carried out some checks and it seems it is a fairly common reaction particularly to those with sensitive skin. She has statrted a course of steriod tablets from the Dr and it now subsiding - but this has been a very unpleasant week.
I have used Piz Buin 1 day long sun cream for quite some time and recently purchased a new 30 High lotion. I only noticed that it had a slightly zipped up look to its packaging. A day or 2 after applying iton my face and neck I came out in what can only be described as minute water type blisters on my face and neck.this was itchy and made me feel really awful. My face felt like sandpaper and made me feel very self conscious. I didn't make the connection at first until after three days and a rash now on the back of my neck and inside my ears and around the insides of my arms and backs of shoulders. I went to my GP who said it was more than likely the sunscreen. In fact it was the first question he asked me. So BEWARE! I shall be in touch with the company. My scalp is now starting to itch and my stomach and back too so I hope it isn't spreading. This is the first time I have had any sort of sensitivity to anything. Anyone got any tips to get rid of it fast. It doesn't show any signs of going :(
I also used this product recently during a vacation and broke out in a rash on my neck and arms. Terrible. It has taken a few weeks to heal up and I still have a few of the "blisters" that aren't totally healed. Beware
Whew! Im glad I found this posting because I broke out around my jaw, nose, and eye area after using helioplex. Thought I would have to leave shell fish alone.
