I had a similar problem. I got the mirena put in 2-3 months after i had my daughter about April of 08 and i went in for a check up a month later and they could not find the strings so they did a ultra sound and a vag ultrasound and did not see it anywhere so they said it expelled itself. So i got a new one put in about a month later. I had to have a ct scan about a month and half ago because of right side pain and they found the freaking IUD in the left side of my pelvis and a cyst on my right ovary!!! So i have had two Mirena iud in for almost a year! The Dr use a laparoscope to remove the IUD and clean up the cyst( It had already burst). But i did kept the other iud in place because it was still in the right place but i have extreme pain in both ovaries every other week and very small spotting. I'm getting very fed up with this iud I thought i would give a little time but it really hurts. I really like the fact that i don't have to worry about birth controll for 5 years but i think I'm going to have to get over that and get on the pill or nuva ring. well that's my story! thanks

I just found out yesterday that's what happened to me. I am wondering if that is what's causing the extreme bloating and pain. I look 7 months pregnant and have been asked if I'm pregnant.

I just found yesterday that my Mirena is not in place. They will do surgery to remove the Mirena once they find it.

I have also been searching for lawsuits- I am going in in 2 weeks to have surgery to have this removed!

Omg!!...i too am a victim of the IUD purforating my uterus, i just found out yesterday, i went in becuz i've been bleeding very heavy off and on since i got the mirena since a mnth after i got the mirena july09, the doctor opened my cervix to see if she could see how much blood i was losing, and didnt see the strings of the mirena, she thought it probably fell out and i didnt notice, but she sent me for a xray to make sure and they found it in the upper portion of my stomach, i was sent for a ct scan, and they said it was all tied up in my upper intestines, so they would need to go in and un tangle it to remove it, they're gonna go in and place cameras in my stomach and cut small holes to pull it out..i get this today and im scared..but now i kno that im not the only one thats been through this, i wonder tho is there anything legal that can be done to prevent this from happening to more ppl.,
