My 15-year-old daughter experienced alopecia (bald patches) after the first injection. We didn't initially connect it to the vaccine. Then, after the second shot, her thick long hair thinned significantly. She will NOT be getting the third injection Gardasil is poison. Anyone else who has experienced hair loss, please post a comment with information on how long it took to come back. She cries daily about this and it breaks my heart.

I'm sorry to hear your daughter has the alopecia.. I also had the same thing back in 2006 when I was 36, but I wasn't getting the Gardasil shot, but I was on birth control and thought I was that, but my OB/GYN said no.
I can imagine how she must feel at school. When I was out I'd make sure the wind didn't blow my hair so the spot would show because it was smooth as a babies butt bald. I didn't even know I was balding in 2 different spots about 1" or 2" big. One right below my crown and 1 on the right side of my head. My husban asked me if I was pulling my hair out. I said What? Finally I ended up seeing a Dermatologist and was getting steroid injections about 6 in each bald spot. I did this for a total of 4 months. Going every 4 weeks. The hair finally grew back and I haven't had it since. Knock on wood. So, maybe taking her to see a Dermatologist would help her to grow the hair back. Please tell her it will get better and to hang in there I know exactly what she's going through.

Hi my 13 year old daughter had gardisal injections last year she suffered a severe amount of hair loss and her hair went from healthy and thick to falling out about 50% all over her scalp. Six months on and her hair had grown back, she now has alopecia areata large bald spots at the back of her scalp and the hair is not growing back.I am unsure if the gardisal injections are related to this but I am desperate for answers!! Also any other comments.

Wow! I have been going crazy trying to figure out why my hair has been coming out. I Haven't been on any new medications in years. However I did forget that I did the Gardisil injections 2 years ago. Apparently it can cause aloecia, from what I've read online. The Merck company should have to pay for this. I am losing more and more hair every day. My dermatologist said it's alopecia but doesn't know why I got it. However, don't do the cortisone injections. I have had serious indentations on my scalp from it.

My 15 year old daughter has also experienced severe heir loss over the last year. She has had a scalp biopsy, ultrasound for polycistic ovaries and numerous blood tests for hormone levels, etc. We have not found any other reason for her hair loss. She is using Regaine twice daily and on Spiraldactone tablets.
