please please please go to a doctor and ask for them to check your Vitamin B12 levels. I have been on Yasmin for over 3 years and around the 2nd year I started experiencing all of your same symptoms. I had an inkling it was yasmin but my dr put me on lexapro. I went off yasmin for 6 months and all of my symptoms went away. I went back on it after 6 months b/c i assumed my dr. was right all along and it was just anxiety. within 4 months i was in the hospital and they found i had a SEVERE vitamin b12 deficiency which apparetnly BC's with ethinyl estradiol can cause. b12 deficiency can cause mental and neurological side effects and the earlier they treat it the better chance you have of recovering.
wow interesting! I stopped the pill! and I am back to normal!!
Your symptoms sound very similar to mine from Yaz. I thought I was having panic attacks as well.... until Sept 2008 I had one of my "panic attacks" while driving on the highway, blacked out and drove off the road. I'm lucky to be alive and escaped severe injury. An EMT was able to diagnose me better than my Dr. who had diagnosed me previously with herpes and depression after waking up 6 months prior with a tongue bite after experiencing nightmares, "panic attacks", de ja vu, dizziness... long story short I was having seizures (temporal lobe). I was ordered to see a neurologist by the ER before I could drive again, he diagnosed me w/epilepsy, I strongly disagree (the only thing that had changed and coincided w/my symptoms was my bc pills - Mononessa (ortho cyclen generic) and Yaz, I think the bc pills (both brands) caused the seizures. I am now on a seizure med which i feel unnecessary to be on and causes other horrible side effects. I could not drive for six months after starting the med, now it has caused me to stop having a period. I have decided to stop the seizures meds and stay away from bc pills. I will have to go another 6 months w/out driving but it is better than the alternative. All by doctors disagree w/me but we know our bodies better than anyone else and they can't possibly know every side effect of bc pills. I suggest stay away from Yaz and other bc pills if they affect you in this way. You don't want to go through the things I have in this past year.
I have stopped taking YAZ since I realized that it made my IBS symptoms worse. I started taking YAZ September 08 as I was having severe symptoms of PMDD. In December 08 my IBS symptoms starting getting worse. My IBS attacks became so bad that my general practice doctor gave me Bentyl to help with the pain. I just thought it was the food I was eating; it was the holidays, so I didn't think anything of it. After the holidays my IBS got progressively worse to where the Bentyl was not working so I decided to see a gastrologist. He did an endoscopy on me and found out that I had gastritis but that did not address my IBS issues. After that, I went to my mother, as she too has IBS. She mentioned that when she was younger and was on birth control that it really affected her stomach in a bad way. I didn't want to go right off my birth control, as I wasn't convinced that it was the problem. She then gave me a strict IBS diet that I followed and I STILL had attacks. This is when I started goggling on the internet "YAZ and stomach issues" and found so many people saying that they started having stomach issues after they started taking YAZ. At that point, I decided to switch birth controls once I was finished with the YAZ pack and I am now on Alesse. It barely took a week but since I’ve had NO attacks. Not one! And I've been eating pretty much what I want. It has been such a relief! From what I have experienced, YAZ is harmful especially to woman with stomach issues. YAZ is no bueno!
