Why in the world would a dr. prescribe this dangerous drug to a 20 year old except ABUSE . . GREED/IGNORANT . I know drs. are drug-happy but, this is ridiculous!! There are many natural products/ alternatives and naturopathy drs. . . .to control cholesterol . . .instead of taking POISON. I suggest that you stop taking it . . .ASAP and find a dr. who really cares about your health.

You have the rest of your life ahead of you. I would think twice about taking a statin. The risks to your health are very real. The most common word people use to describe the side effects is " debilitating". Stopping the drug is no guarantee of recovery. Sometimes the damage is permanant. I would give it very careful thought.

this stuff is deadly - dr put wife on it and the effects were horrific :-

1. loss of muscle tone and strength in arms and legs - flat out walking up six stairs

2. pussy and inflamed eyes

3. pains in kidneys etc etc

4. loss of memory - she was like a zombie going nowhere

5. was so sick I thought she would be gone from us within a matter of weeks

got her off it straight away and advised dr who denied lipitor was the problem so told him to go get ******** . It has taken about 9 months but she is now coming good

She even had same reaction from spread containing plant statins

I believe that the heart is some form of muscle - could not rule out damage to this organ from this shit

If this crap is so good why did the German company Bayer remove its equivalent Baycol from the market - answer is they found out about the reactions and even deaths from their product and had the integrity to do the right thing.

I can guarantee that if you continue taking this crap you do not have much of a future and that you will be lucky to make thirty.

My fathers mother died from high cholesterol, my dad nearly died when i was 8 he had a have a triple bi pass, last year he had 2 stints put in. he is on 60mg of lipitor and is 54 years old he doesn't get the side effects i do just bad cramps in his legs.

I have read peoples posts on lipitor and most people only take 10mg-20mg. this confuses me as i take 40mg per day and these people have had heart attacks and all sorts. so i will definitely be questioning this in my next specialist appointment.

Justine , I am a victim of Lipitor . . . . I stopped taking it over a year now and I still have the side effects. I have spent countless hours to research on statins/cholesterol, etc. Now I know . . . .your body/mind need cholesterol to function. Also, drs. and drug co's have a HUGE racket going on the anti-cholesterol drugs . . . it is all about $$. I wish I knew what that I know now . . it would save a lot of suffer . . . that's why I have been involved in this website for over a year now to help people to save their suffer, time and $$.

well for people who have genetic high blood cholesterol, it is quit hard to control their cholesterol by diet as their choleterol will be much higher than others who have no genetic high cholesterol and also their LDL is higher than 10 and it could cause them sudden heart attak ,but i think it is not good idea to stop medication, the best way is to see naturopath and they will find alternative .but one thing you have to remember that people who take cholesterol drug will eventually end up with heart failuer because it deplete the body from a vital nutrient that is esential for heart to functionCoQ10 ,so if you like to take your drug it is better to take high dose of CoQ10 other wise you definately suffer from statin side effect.my father is victim of lipitor and despite he quit the drug feb2008 still he is not fully recovered ,and sister-in-law recently suffering from side effect which is she can't move properly.so the longer you take the drug side efffect will definately come.for you it is better to see naturopath .
