Honestly this post makes me feel 100% better. I have been on the Nuva Ring for 2 years now. I have noticed a major decrease in my sex drive and I thought it was just because I was getting older (I'm 30) and I had gained some weight so I thought maybe I wasn't interested in sex because I had a bad body image. Now I've had what feels like a yeast infection for 3+ weeks and the over the counter treatment doesn't work. It's extremely uncomfortable and also bad for my already bad sex life as I can't have sex with my boyfriend when I am this uncomfortable not to mention if it is a yeast infection you don't want to risk giving that to your partner. I have an appointment with my doctor and I am going to switch off Nuva Ring immediately and see if another type of birth control might help with the discomfort/itching issue, the sex drive issue and weight gain issue that I have experienced. I just thought something was wrong with me and even thought maybe I have an STD or cancer or something extreme like that even though I have been tested and am otherwise a very healthy person. Hearing that I'm not the only one with these issues being on NR makes me think maybe I'm normal and just on the wrong birth control. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories!
