I just finished a 10 day regime of avelox and experienced only mild side effects, some dizziness in the evening and some tightness in the chest. I also experienced some pain in my back but I am not sure that it is related to the avelox or is a problem that is recurring as a result of the cancer I have. Anyway, I was surprised to read that you thought you couldn't take any pain medication. I used 5mg of morphine and it helped with the pain and didn't interact with the avelox. I have been prescribed 10mg tablets of morphine to use as a result of the cancer that I have, (multiple myeloma) and just cut them in half. I was told that a 10mg of morphine is equal to to tylenol 3's but the advantage of the morphine is that I don't get constipated which is kind of nice. Hope you're doing better.
I have been on Avelox for three days and thought I was loosing my mind. I could concentrate or focus. Simple tasks took forever to complete. I felt like my mind was racing, but my body was in slow motion. My hands were shaking, my legs would cramp so badly it made it difficult to walk. I decided to look up the side effects and found this website. Thank God! I have called my doctor and requested a different antibiotic. Bless all of you who have gone through so much. This drug should be taken off the market.
