I actually found a new doctor today that believed me! She said, when it comes to hormones, anything is possible, and everyone is different. She was actually interested in reading the posts on this website. Just a note of encouragement... since I've had the Mirena removed, my hair is growing back, I lost my last 15 lbs, I am no longer depressed, I have energy, I haven't had a nap since i had it removed. This new doctor did explain to me that it can take up to 18 months to get all of the progesterone out of your system, which is why I have had relapses premenstrual every month with the following symptoms: joint pain, sexual repulsion, depression, moodiness. But it's so nice to know I'm not crazy and that this too will end!

Glad that you found a doctor who listened to you!! I have a great doctor, too. I am interested in your doctor's comment that the progesterone can stay in your system up to 18 months...I will be at that point in July....and while things were almost back to normal after a few months, I have had some bouts of dizziness, brain fog, etc. but much milder and less frequently. Can I ask how long you had yours in?
