That's truly sad at such a young age, I'm sorry you went through that! I was a big time athlete and was in great shape before Prednisone robbed me of everything. I had all the sides also and it too ruined my life, but I made it back. Changed my whole diet, started very slowly working out again and even though my body bares all the scars like yours, I'm now the envy of people who (Not to brag) who want to be in shape. I had gained 85lbs. cateracts, glaucoma, fibromyalgia, diabetes, osteporosis with fractures, 6 broken ribs from one cough, two broken arms, from a little fall,
lost my job, insurance, almost lost my wife, home, had to sell everything I owned just to make it, but looking back it was a blessing. It brought my wife and I closer, I got to spend quite a bit of time with my son. Being a successful business person who became desolate, I reevelauted everything important in my life.
God gave you scars to heal, learn from and to help other people. Embrace what has happened to you and keep sharing your experience, strength and hope. You have a destiny and a path. Make the best use of it and you won't regret the past and it will actually become your friend.
Sorry for the rant, I do know how you feel.
Please take care, people love and care for you now and they always will.
I know you've heard it but it's the only way to make it, ONE DAY AT A TIME.
You should look up cushing's syndrome, and ask your family doctor to refer you to an endocronologist. I have been on prednisone on and off for 17 years for RA, and just found out about cushing's from another doctor I was seeing, not my arthritis doctor! They are suppose to warn you that you could develop this disease. Hope this help you.
