Please visit www.parentsforsafety.org for comprehensive information about Singulair to share with your uninformed physician.
My Son was on it for 17 days and he committed suicide on that 17th day,it can be a fast and progressive deterioration. My child also never showed any of the behaviors he displayed while taking Singulair ,this is dangerous for some people and should not be given to children .The little ones are the ones I worry most about, they can't explain how they feel.My son was 15 and he could not explain what was going on in his head,he took his life to get away from it.May God Bless your family please take the time to report this to rhe FDA.

You have no idea how helpful it was to read what you wrote. My son's Dr says his mood changes are not from Singulair. I truly felt that they were but because he said the drug is ok and it seems to help my son's symtoms so well, I contined to give it to him for seasonal allergies. Well, I've given him his last dose. I'm not crazy, it's the Singulair that's turning my sweet, happy, loving little boy into a nervous, weeping mess with dark thoughts every allergy season.
I'm so glad to see your post as well as the others. My 2 year old was prescribed singulair 2 weeks ago & I noticed his mood changes. He's also had strange dreams, and my cute, funny little boy hasn't been his happy self. Today was the last straw though when he bit a little boy at school, for the second time, for absolutely no reason. My son's aggressiveness toward his 18 month old sister has been unreasonable also. My husband and I made the decision to take our son off singulair. I spoke to the pharmacist and they suggested to take our son off the med and speak to the doctor to let them know what was going on. Merck does have the "post-market" symptoms listed in the information leaflet. Aggressive behavior, restlessness, dream abnormalities, etc. are listed along w/many others. Our pediatrician is out for two weeks but her nurse agrees w/taking our son off singulair and we have an appt. w/the doc when she returns. I'm like you, I feel guilty for putting him on the medication. I feel more guilty that he was on it for two weeks when after about 5 days I noticed the changes, but thought it had more to do w/his age than anything.
