Sweetie, go to planned parenthood and have them take it out!!! Thats what Im doing, tomorrow! Its only $150... I feel you, I have no insurance either... But condoms have got to be cheaper than X-Rays, pain meds etc...
wow, thank you so much for your post!!! I also have had many effects but worse within the last 3 months. I have had hip and thigh pain with swelling also and have been to dr and ER numerous times!!! I was told the same thing as pinch nerve, my gynecologist suggeted to go to Dr and get steriod shot, well that made it worse expect my back pain feels better but still swollen hip and thigh. it comes and goes but stays more often.
Why do you think you may have to have a hysterectomny??? and do you have a tilted uterus?? I've haven't go mine out yet because I need BC and no insurance on my husband to get vacectomny. in the process of trying to get it, so i can get this thing removed!!!
Have you tried your local Health department? They usually have gynecologist, but make sure you ask how many they have removed.
What about the Dr that put it in, have you asked if they will take payment arrangements? Keep me posted.!!!! Hope you feel better. I just feel like I have become immuned to my problems from this thing. It's an everyday nuisance and I'm so ?@## tired of it!!!!
In answer to the hysterectomy question, I had the Mirena put in because I have uterine fibroids and cysts on my ovaries. I would bleed excessively for sometimes up to 11 or 12 days and would feel like I was given birth to an elephant. I was told the Mirena would make my periods shorter and very light, which it definitely did. The only other alternative was to have a hysterectomy. I did try to make an appointment with the doc who put it in but could not be seen there because I am "self pay" with no insurance. I also was put on steroids, tested for Thyroid disease and whatever else I could think of after a million trips to WebMD. Only 2 days ago when I came to Medications.com did everything FINALLY make sense. I have downed more pain meds tonight as I can't hardly walk right now but they really don't even phase me. I only sleep when I just pass out from exhaustion. I wish I had known earlier that this was the cause. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow as I have a GYN appt in the morning. Had to cough up 200 just to schedule an appt. Go figure. Be careful and really pay close attention to any muscle spasm, tingling in the legs, numbness in the hips or severe pain and if anyone tells you that you are crazy, your not!!!
