Tremendous weight gain almost instantly from age 7 to now at age 8-1/2 . When my grandson started this medication we noticed the weight gain. The doctor assured us it had nothing to do with the Singular. We looked on line for information, but could find nothing about weight gain as a side effect. At last it has surfaced that children taking the Singular are also having a weight gain problem. We intend to stop this medication immediately. This is intended for the health and well being of children.

Please visit us for more information on Singulair's side effects and the FDA Safety Review: www.parentsforsafety.org

Please report your grandson's adverse reaction to the FDA: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/medwatch-online.htm.

I hope he is doing well.

I've had the same issue with my son now 14. He began Singulair at age 9 and the weight gain seem to be increasing in the mid section and back. He's an athlete, very active and eats a healthy diet. His physicians insist there's no correlation but I whole heartedly disagree. I've taken him off to see if he loses any weight. I'd like to know how your grandson has been doing? Any results?
