I am 44 and had the Mirena put in July, 2008 because of heavy periods/anemia. I thought it was a good thing at first although my periods were lighter I had spotting 2-3 weeks out of the month and never knew when it was going to happen. By December I went back to the Dr. with numerous other complaints (that is not me), I have been healthy, active, happy and within the higher side of normal weight up until now. I have aches and pains I cannot explain to the point of even getting off the couch or out of bed hurts, I have gained 30 pounds in 10 months, I have had blurred vision as well but I thought that was just my age, is it a coincidence that so many other women have this complaint? No sex drive, extreme back aches, nausea and I feel tired all the time. I am also a f/t college student and I find it very hard to concentrate and study. I did not have any of these problems a year ago. I was told there were no side effects so I decided to try it. Very bad decision, I called my Dr. today and I am getting it out ASAP.
