I had the Mirena removed after 5 weeks. In addition to bleeding which I expected, I experienced hair loss, 5 lb weight gain in 5 weeks, fatigue, muscle pain, poor concentration, lower back pain, blurred vision, foggy feeling. I may have underlying thyroid issues which I will address.
