Hello all, First of all, I am relieved to hear I am not alone ...

Hello all, First of all, I am relieved to hear I am not alone in this. Second though, I'm sorry others are suffering this much! This is horrible. Besides the unpredictable bleeding and terrible cramping, I have been battling bacterial vaginosis for the last few months. I am convinced the mirena iud is the cause. On my last visit to the doctor on 5-13-09, he prescribed antibiotics yet again and said to "give it some time" and come back in August. That is when I am due for my annual exam. When I am on the antibiotics, the cramping, bleeding and discharge stop, but as soon as it's finished, it all starts again. Like a few other comments I've read, I too have no sex drive and am so dry, sex hurts sometimes. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced problems with BV with the mirena iud. Thank you and best of luck to all of you!!!!!

I too have sufferred from all of the previously mention symptoms such as nausea, vomitting, over active bladder, menstrual for 13 days and worst of all BV. Which after some research I believe has been misdiagnosed. I researched all of my Vaginal symptoms such as excessive discharge and foul odor and I found that this could be the result of contracting something called " Cervicitis" http://www.emedicinehealth.com/cervicitis/page2_em.htm! However, I've had enough of everything with this Mirena. I am going to have it removed this Thursady and i'm going back to the original IUD the copper T. I used this one prior to the Mirena. It was only removed because I was ready to have another child. The worst thing about this product was a little more cramping and heavier bleeding. Other than that there are NO HORMONES so you remain chemically balanced. FYI, My husband jokingly tells me that he thinks that I'm " bipolar" since I've had all of these current mood swings.....that's how bad these hormones have affected me. So I recommend the Copper T for anyone still interested in this method of birth control. Good luck to you all!
