I put in the Nuvaring about 2 hours ago for the first time. Within ten minutes I experienced dizziness, "floatyness", anxiety, jitters, and about an hour later my skin started itching(back, legs, etc). I feel like I'm high? I called ask-a-nurse since it is Memorial Day and my OB is closed and she said those weren't typical side effects, though she doesn't THINK they are dangerous. Did anyone else have any immediate side effects? Thanks..

Hi, are you feeling better now? Any updates?
I think I would take it out and wait until a doctor is available, maybe you could take it out and check with your doctor first and if she/he still says it's ok then decide what you want to do? What do you think?
I stopped using the ring about 2 months ago, after using it for about 2 years. I was considering getting a refill then but started reading more reviews online and decided to stop using the ring...so now it's kinda hard for me to recommend others to use the ring now, especially after been reading all these scary reviews. If I had found this page sooner, and realized that my symptoms (tiredness, irritability, moodswings, weight gain, bloating, for example) might have been related to the ring, I would probably have stopped using it sooner. I used Nuvaring for about 2 years and didn't realize until recently that some of my symptoms were very likely connected to the ring.
It seems that a lot of people are having problems with the ring now (or maybe more people are coming forward and reviewing it online more often nowadays), but of course every body is different and for some people it could be a great method. The ring was good at protecting against pregnancy, and it's definitely convenient. However, for some people it comes with a lot of side effects..I guess we all need to try various methods and see what works best for us. Your body might just be adjusting to the ring, and adjusting could take a while, or your body could also already be showing that it is sensitive to the ring, I don't know, please check with your doctor as soon as he/she is available... It took me about a month for my body to get used to the ring (bleeding pretty much the whole first month, then after putting the second ring in, stopped bleeding). I'm glad to be off it now though, and get back to my natural self. Once again, for some people it's a great birthcontrol, and for some it's not, depends on each body.
I hope it all works out for you. Feel free to contact me if you'd like. Thanks and good luck!!
