I have been taking welbutrin for about 4 years now. I am going to tell my exact dose and type since I am trying to figure out from other peoples comments if there is a difference in side effect in SR vs XL . I have taken 150 XL and the went down to 75 mg Sr because i was trying to decrease the dosage and come off entirely eventually. I have suffered with acne all the four years but thought it was stress (Daughter became type i diabetic and can't ever get her blood sugar stable and the my son developed a bone tumor not long after she was diagnosed). Anyway we finally got his problem resolved with good results but hers is a blood sugar nightmare everyday. So you can see why I thought the acne was from stress . Never even crossed my mind it could be wellbutrin. I noticed my skin was better for a while when my dose was just 75 mg sr. But alas the bone tumor came back again for my son and had to go back to 150xl. Skin has hundreds of little white tiny tiny white heads. Is this the type of acne other people are experiencing?

i started on wellbutrin little over a week ago. I am taking 300 mg and I never have breakouts and my face has tiny white heads also. I was horrified. I didn't know if it was from wellbutrin or stress. I also experience irritability and flip out on people when in a semi stressful situation. My chest feels tight all the time, but I also have anxiety so that is probably contributing. Can someone maybe recommend a different medication for me to try? HELP

My daughter who just turned 19 has been on the Wellbutrin for several months. She has always had picture perfect skin until she was put on the Wellbutrin. At first it was a random couple here and there on her forehead or cheek, then it exploded with many little bumps all over her forehead, then cheeks and chin. Talk about making you depressed! She is now off of the meds for about a week and is now on Effexor. So far a slight improvement, but she is still battling it. She has been to the dermatologist to help it. Her psychologist never heard of this happening, but I have found so many sites with people having the same problem. If you have and switched meds, how long did it take for your face to get back to where it was? This is pretty much the same as the others that I have read, with the little bumps, white heads, and a few larger ouch ones! I'm hoping that no face side effects with the Effexor. It took us a while to figure out that it was the Wellbutrin, but I feel extremely certain that was the cause of her acne.
