Does anyone have any thoughts on after stopping the nuvaring. I was only on it for 2 months but the extreme moods and depression made me stop and never look back. Its been 6 months since I stopped, I have not used any birth control since. My hair started falling out when I was on it, but it never stopped and is now getting worse. I am not feeling well and seem to have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism, I just had a blood test today and am waiting on the results. I am 25 yrs old and otherwise healthy besides this. I feel like all my symptoms, physical and emotional started with the nuvaring, I am wondering if anyone else has developed hypothyroidism after being on and stopping the nuvaring???

I have gone to the Doctor with complants of my hair falling out, both Doctors replied "it just Stress" .. However; I have nothing to be stressed about! Other than the fact that this ring is making me CRAZY! Thanks for all the information Ladies!

I used nuvaring for 3 months and my hair fell off too, but lots of hair. Actually my hair also thinned. 7 months after i stopped i still felt the side effects of the medication. Deppresion and anxiety, stomach desorders etc. It has been like 9 months and I still cant gain back my regular weight i lost 20 pounds. It takes time. Eat healthier, take supplements and regular exercise helps a lot. I read online and in books that bc depletes you of your vitamins and minerals so you want to gain all that back through food and supplements. Hope this helps and you get better soon

My hair thinned out extremely since I started the Nuva ring 6years ago. I was on it for a few yrs. and finally figured out that it was the ring that was causing my depression and hair thinning. I only figured this out because I decided to give body a rest from birth control for a while, and as soon as I stopped taking it I felt like a new person. My hair actually didn't get any better, but it definitely started when i used the ring. Rogaine is actually a pretty good solution for the thinning hair problem. Use the mens foam because its stronger!
