Hi,I am a 43 year old female who has high blood pressure. I have been taking 10 mg of lisinopil for about 8 weeks. I started getting the dry cough and always felt like clearing my throat. I went to the ENT and was told that I had acid reflux. I am up most of the night coughing and choking. I am wondering after reading the complaints that this med might be causing it. I am now taking Nexium for the acid reflux but the dry cough is still happening. My high blood pressure was only 145/90 so I am thinking of going off the meds and try to get the BP down on my own.

I went through your same routine and am trying to figure it out as well. I started Lisinopril in Feb 09 for a similar BP as yours I've had for years. About 3-4 weeks later the night coughs started. I went to an ENT who diagnosed me with esophigal acid reflux. After a short stint taking an Rx my HMO would not cover, my primary Dr. prescribed me Protonix which helps, but I have to supplement it with chewable Papaya enzymes to get a fair amount of sleep. My cough is mainly during sleep when lying down. The cough is generally caused by a sharp sticky feeling in my throat. If you find any more info to help your symptoms I'll be interested.
