Neurontin really works for me - however I have gained weight. I have gained 27 pounds in a year and a half. I am still gaining. I go to my doctor on Wednesday to get on something else! I can't take anymore. I hope you don't gain with it - I did. For awhile though - I used to ask myself - Which is worse? A little bit of chub, or a horrible migraine. It's a hard choice - especially when you find something that finnaly works.
Right now I would like to try Topomax or Keppra. I am hoping they work as well as Neurontin.
Good luck - I hope you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't join weight on it.
I too have been on Neurontin for several months, and experienced about 30 pounds of weight gain. It has been a very effective medication at controlling my neuropathic pain, and also seems to control my restless leg syndrome without making me feel like a zombie the next day. I have not personally experienced any symptoms of depression, and actually feel like it has improved my mood somewhat. It is important that if you notice any symptoms of depression or mood change to notify your doctor immediately.
