I have been taking Lamictal for just three weeks. The most troublesome side effect for me has been nasal congestion and the inability to smell or taste anything. Has anyone experienced this and found relief after reaching the maintenance dose after the starter pack? Is there anyone who has found relief from this in any way? I'm not sure I can tolerate not being able to breathe and am hoping that it goes away soon.

I know exactly what you mean. I have been on Lamictal for just over one month now - I just finished the starter pack and my dr has me on 100mg a day. I have been having terrible sinus issues taking this medication. I didn't put two and two together until 2 days ago when I picked up my official prescription from the pharmacy. As they were discussing side effects they mentioned nasal congestion. Now, it totally makes sense. I'm totally stuffed up with really bad headaches. Plus, I'm not sleeping well at night at all. I'm becoming afraid of this medicine and am going to chat with my therapist about going off of it.
