You didn't say, but I hope you will stop taking this dangerous drug . . . . Yes, drs. and the drug co's have a SCAM going on . . . . it is all about $$ and people suffer. Your body/mind needs cholesterol to function. There are many natural products/alternatives to help health issues . . . instead of taking drugs that cause MANY side effects. . . . .Don't let your dr. to con you.
People who take statins don't live any longer than those who don't.
Despite all the hype and medical recommendations to lower cholesterol, After years of study I find no relationship between cholesterol levels and heart attacks.
The 80 mg of lipitor you were prescibed was for legal reasons- for the doctor, not for you. This way if you suffer another heart attack, you can't come back and sue the doctor for failing to prescribe a cholesterol lowering drug.
Lowering cholesterol is commercialy viable. Remember, we still don't have a definitive cause for artery disease. But they have a pill to sell us to protect us from a heart attack?
well cholesterol drug do alot of harm and little good.my father is also victim of lipitor and also he has heart problem.cholesterol is one of the risk factor for heart disease but there are alot of other factor too like c-reactive protein(inflammation that severly damage arteries) high level of homocystein (low level of vitamin B6,B12,and B9 (floate) that increase of heart attack.especially if homocystein is high and even if cholesterol being normal range it will cause a heart attack and it is easily being lowered by taking vitamin Bcomplex.c-reactive is caused by taking too much trans fat like deep fried food and many more so cholesterol it self can be easily managed by diet and adding few herbs to your diet.anyone who take cholesterol medication finally end up with heart failure because it deplete the body from vital nutrient CoQ10 low level of COQ10 is linked to heart failure.so if you take cholesterol medication you difinately should take Q10 by your Dr advice.good luck

Thank you all for your encouraging words, i've come off the lipitor, and i think i might come off the cardicor too, i don't see the needs of two blood pressure lowering drugs. Cardicor lowers the heart beat, i'm on the smallest dose possible and they daren't raise it, so why should i be on it at all, if i'm on the smallest dose. The Dr's seem keen to raise meds if you have any issues, but not if you are doing all in your power to keep well.
I live in Ireland and am completely disgruntled at the way the Dr's act, so much so i'm willing to now travel to put my mind at ease, or at least get advice.
As for Homocysteine, i'm reading 'The H Factor' by Patrick Holford and Dr James Braly. Another good book i'm reading is 'Before The Heart Attacks' by Dr. Robert Superko. Look them up, worth reading.
Good to hear that you will stop taking some of these dangerous drugs . . .unfortunately, drs. are drug-happy since that's all they know. They need nutrition/alternative classes. . . . .I weaned myself from a blood pressure drug and now I take a herb with great success.
BRAVO. Same problems as myself. Heart attack, stents...high cholestorol..Load of meds and all these horrible things happening to your body that you've never had before. Muscle aches. No strength in neck to hold it up properly. Heart pain like my heart attack..through the centre to the back.Breathlessness, like asthma, sore throat, shoulder stiff as a board. Eyesight deteriorating, hair getting thinner, (too many meds to work out which one's the bigger culprit of them all!!) Working through the problems yourself (the docs won't listen...I'm a woman, so it MUST be stress!) is difficult. It's been two years of hell... thrown in the deep end- in no fit state to swim your best and left to flounder your way through. A bloody disgrace. I've tried Lipitor & other lipids so many times and the same happens every time. I know my cholestorol rises when I stop them, but, hey... is it 'living' to be suffering so much? I'll take my chances with feeling good enough to exercise better & eat healthy, rather than constantly functioning badly because of symptoms (and possible long term problems elsewhere). Hopefully I'll recover over time. Been two weeks and still muscle 'movements' but definitely far better (within 36 hrs of stopping it) than I was. Good luck to you all. Maybe one day everything that's been said by us all will be 'heard' by the people that are supposed to be caring for us. Seems like a 'production-line' in the docs these days.
