I was prescribed levaquin back in May for a sinus infection. Have suffered from severe side effects, worst of which being joint and muscle pain, stomach pains, weakness and hives (last dose was taken 10 days ago). This has been the most physical discomfort and pain that I've ever been in. In addition, my ability to concentrate and recall easy things has lessened. The "Bafoon" of a doctor that prescribed this claimed he didn't know what was wrong with me after a normal blood test. My new knowledgeable doctor told me that some people can't even walk after taking Levaquin. She says it takes on average 7 days to 6 weeks to feel improvement. Being a 36 yr old woman, having to move turtle speed, and feeling like I'm in a 90 year old body is very depressing. If anyone has any information on any class action or mass tort litigation lawsuits please send me the information. This drug is poison and should not be prescribed for minor infections!!!

I injested Levaquin 500 mg tabs for five days in May of 2006, muscles stiffened in my legs shortly thereafter then weakness set in until I could not stand up or walk, could not lift arms above head. My neck was stiff with no range of motion whatsoever. I had to quit working I could not sleep due to extreme pain and lost 20 pounds in a couple of months. This condition persisted for about 10 months until some strength returned but I was still using a walker; could not walk up and down steps for another year. Today, June 22, 2009, I ride a bike but cannot walk long distances nor maintain sustained physical activity. Medical tests are all grossly normal. I had a reaction to Levaquiin and still suffer shoulder, neck, and hip paiin. I have had excellent health all of my life until I injested Levaquin. Pass the word around -- Levaquin in poison.

I hear they are starting a class action suit, but they specifically mentioned tendon damage. 1-800-bad-drug I don't know if you'll get anything if you don't have torn tendons. Wish everyone could, it's not only tendon damage harming people.

i was noticing al the activity about this drug here tonight so i looked it up. i can't believe your doctor gave it to you for a lousy sinus infection! it says "Levofloxacin is a synthetic chemotherapeutic agent used to treat severe or life threatening bacterial infections"
it fgoes on "reactions may manifest long after therapy had been completed and in severe cases may result in life long disabilities"
all this!!! for a sinus infection????

i'm in shock. i hope you sue the crap out of that freaking doctor!!!

and the drug companies who surely were trying to gain a larger market share

good luck to all
