I am a 62 year old female and started taking Prinil, which contains Lisinopril, 3 months ago. On the second day the dry cough started and also my vocal cords felt paralyzed. After 12 days I was told to stop taking the medication. I still have a very hoarse voice and problems with my speech. Have been to two throat specialists and there is nothing wrong with my throat. Has anyone had such symptoms. If so please reply.

I was taking Lisinopril for a couple months and I, too, had that dry cough. I was hoarse. I do some singing at senior centers, etc, and the cough was really interfering. I stopped taking the drug. It has been a couple months and the hoarsness still bothers to some extent. It seems to take a long time to recover, but I think time will cure the problem. I think 120 over 80 is not a goal for older folks. I am 74. Some doctors still feel 100 plus your age is a good goal. Good luck!. ...
