Yes, this is a side effect for some people on statins. You need to go to the SpaceDoc's website (Dr. Graveline) There are others on this site that have had the "rage" side effect from statins. I suggest your husband stop taking these drugs. Do more research and you will see how dangerous they are. The lack of cholesterol is affecting his brain function. I wish you well.

My husband used to have aggressive rages where he would lose his temper, say things about me that weren't true and become very angry - it nearly split us up. Then 5 months ago it all stopped and he became the man I used to know again, I thought he was just making more of an effort and put the rages down to stress. Then just over two weeks ago the rages and nastiness started again - I was at my wits end and begged him to tell me what had changed in the last two weeks to make him like that. Thats when he told me that he had re-started taking Simvastatin which he had stopped five months ago as he suspected they were altering his moods.
I have never needed more proof that his moods were definately as a result of the tablets - I could tell him the day he had started the tablets due to his mood change when I didnt know he had started taking them, or indeed had stopped taking them.
I have tonight thrown all his tablets away - it is that or divorce. And he is taking just 10mg a day. Scary
