It's melasma, aka "mask of pregnancy." Its not exclusive to Yasmin as it can happen with any hormonal form of birth control. It happens when your body gets an increase in hormones - either pregnancy, hormonal birth control, or hormone replacement therapy. A tiny bit of sun will darken it like crazy, so you need you need to use a high SPF with zinc and titanium dioxide. There isn't a cure, but there is a cream (Tri-Luma) that will lighten it. See your dermatologist about it if it really bothers you, but trust me, the sun will forever be an enemy to your face.
