Pain is one of the side effect of the drug.It does not occur for many people. There are some medications which increase the intensity of side effects too you can find them at http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/levaquin.html
So sorry to hear your Mom is suffering. Take her to another Doctor who is knowledgeable about the ADR's of Levaquin. They will be able to at least come up with a plan. My Doctor wants me to go on Medrol-Pak (Steroids) in a few days if pain and tiredness don't subside. Hope you find some relief for her.

I would try to keep your mom as comfortable as possible. My experience with taking just one 500mg tablet of Levaquin over three years ago has left me in constant joint pain, especially the shoulders and neck. Cortisone shots were only a short-lived fix. That one tablet ended with me in the ER 45 minutes later in respiratory distress, as well as hives, itching, and swelling of my entire body. I was 42 at the time. In July of last year I was mysteriously diagnosed with b-cell lymphoma from a sinus tumor. As a previously very healthy mom I am very upset to hear what Levaquin is doing to others! This Monday I will seek legal advice on this matter. Anyone else currently in litagation?
