Wow, who should I believe? Placebo controlled studies which suggest Avelox is a perfectly safe drug or a bunch of crazy people who like to TYPE every OTHER word IN all CAPS who are probably all middle aged women with psychological problems and/or fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, or other made up diagnoses. Here's a hint morons: The reason why every drug in existence now lists every possible side effect is because of crazies like you. This way, the drug company can protect themselves from litigious idiots like the poster below who wants to join a class action lawsuit. This only compounds the problem, though, because then more crazies look at the side effect profile and when they see that "Oh my gosh, it says right here it causes x, y, and z" it just validates in there mind that this is somehow a dangerous drug. I swear, if all of the pampered babies in this country were put to work in a rice field in Cambodia, there would be a lot less nonsense in the world. You would see what true pain and suffering is about.

Wow datruth, apparently you have never had your body all jacked up from a medication. Kudos to you. The REAL truth is, there are alot of harmful medications out there with alot of hidden side effects. Doctors are too busy to research the drugs that are given to them by reps that come in passing them out like candy. I am not a middle-aged woman (thanks for the discrimination though) and had nothing but problems from a birth control pill. It has been 2 years since I have quit taking it and I am still having issues. It starts affecting your thyroid (which they don't tell you) and your adrenals (which they don't tell you) which causes your whole body to be out of balance. I am not saying all drugs are bad, I am saying don't knock the people that have serious issues with the ones that are.

You should really feel blessed that you have never suffered any type of harmful effects from being on or withdrawing from a medication. Until you have there is no way you could possibly comment on this subject. Just check out the internet for things like cymbalta withdrawal which I have experienced first hand. Its no joke. Had I not experienced it I probably would have thought like you. I probably would have thought there is no way a doctor would give anyone a medication that could have these kind of effects on a person. Shaking that won't stop, heart palpitations, sky rocketing blood pressure, disturbed gate, itching that won't stop, insomnia for days and so on and so forth. You should think about being a little more compassionate about things that you haven't experienced first hand and reserve your comments for those things you have.

Have you taken this medication? I certainly DID NOT even pay any attention to the inserts that explain the medication. You are full of yourself! I bet you haven't taken it or you would SHUT THE F UP!!!!!!!!!!

morons? You really should look in the mirror dood. I wonder how much pharmaceuticals would pay to trash like you. On other hand If you have no clue of what you are talking about just shut up. Here is a little link that may help others to realize what is going on.

"Placebo controlled studies which suggest Avelox is a perfectly safe drug" - I am sure that other drugs that been pulled off were just as "Perfectly safe"
For sure to you it looks as a fabrication against drug companies?

Actually - I had no idea that Avalox was bad until after I took it. I could hardly walk when getting out of bed in the morning, the bottoms of my feet were swollen and warm to the touch. I couldn't wear any shoes that enclosed my feet from the back. I finally went to a podiatrist and was told I had one torn tendon in my right foot and a bone spur on my left heel..due to the avalox. He gave me cortisone shots and support insoles, along with exercises to do before getting out of bed and to do during the day to regain elasticity in my tendons. I had to wear a air cast on my right foot for a while to immoblize the muscle until it could heal. I did not have any trouble with my feet until I took this medication..I do not believe it is a fabrication at all..I am not looking for money, compensation or anything of the sort - but this is a real side effect - if you read the warnings and contraindications on the avalox enclosed brochure, it is listed right there in black and white.
