June 11, 2009 Just for all of you out there...I had the MIRENA put in May of 2008.I was anemic and had it inserted to help with menstrual bleeding. I am through having babies, so i didn't need it for birth control. My husband has had a vasectomy. I am having it surgically removed tomorrow because of an unsuccessful attempt at my doctors office on Wednesday. It is going to cost me $5000.00 to have it removed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $5000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had terrible side effects that my doctors profusely denies could have anything to do with the MIRENA. Funny how I didn't have them before the MIRENA! Think twice before you have this put in! I can't imagine if i had waited 5 years to have it removed!!!! K.
