I just started taking Yaz about a week ago. So far I have noticed both good and bad things about this pill. The good side to Yaz is: It got rid of my cramps & made my period soo much lighter, I couldn't believe it. You know how your period is usually heavy the first few days, then gets lighter towards the end? Well the entire time it felt very light like how it normally would feel the LAST day of my period. The down side to Yaz: My mother & boyfriend have both noticed that I am a bit more snappy/moody since I started taking it, and I am very tired and feel fatigued in the morning- I've been having a hard time getting out of bed! Also, sometimes before bed I feel a little nauseous. As for now, I am going to continue taking Yaz, UNLESS my mood swings get worse or I experience any other side effects. I am 19 years old by the way, if that helps.

i am also 19 and been on yaz for a year, in 4 months i gained 20 pounds. over the time my mood just became worse and worse. it made me depressed and i advise you to change from yaz as soon as possible. i am changing tomorrow. my entire family noticed that i have became emotionaly and physically changed from this. Its even getting to the point were me and my husband would rather use a condom then use this birth control. i know several other girls on this pill who have gained 15-20 pounds in a mere 3 months. but try it for a few months and if you see the same side-effects switch as soon as you can.
