Well.... I am not a DR, but it does seem there are several sleep medications that have this side effect, among many others. Lunestia also has been know to cause hair loss.
Other side effects have inc, nightmares, anxiety, headache, hot flashes, drastic mood changes, aggression, sleep walking, sleep eating, driving while sleeping. Many people have been seriously injured, thankfully I have not, other than some hair loss. These medications are also highly addictive.... I have had most of these side effects.
Recently I came across an article about Ambien CR given to patients in a coma, & it brought them to some form of Conciseness. If these meds can do that to a brain in a COMA, what do you think it's doing to a healthy brain???
Look at the official website for the Medications you take. Then google it, see what the people who actually take the medication are saying. Not everyone will have the side effects, since we are all different.
Knowledge is power as they say.......... You have to realize what ever you put in your body, has good & bad sides. It's your body, your choice, you know how you feel, what's normal & what's not. I have many friends in the medical field. From what I've been told & what I've realized by past experiences, 80% of medications don't work for everyone.
For me? I've gone back to over the counter sleep aids, at least I'm sleeping.
Drink plenty of fluids to flush my system...works for me.
