There are other options besides Mirena or pills. SInce you are young, you may not experience the side effects many of us have. Why not go to your local Planned Parenthood and discuss other options with them.
If you really what an IUD, ask about the Paraguard Cooper IUD... It has NO hormones and last for up to 10yrs..... I had that one and it was almost problem free..... I had to have mines removed because it was not inserted high enough so it shifted causing my periods to be long/heavy and extreme cramps.....and I had bleeding/ cramping with intercourse.....
If high blood pressure is an issue for you than get a second/third option about mirena because from reading some of the post here, some of the ladies developed high blood pressure after it was inserted....
