Hello! I am 26 and a mother of 3 boys. I had C sections with all of them so since I didn't dilate insertion of Mirena was quite painful. I had it inserted 9/29/2008. The first few months were not bad. Had a period like every other month and spotted the ones in between. Starting in April-May I was having labor type pains so I called her, she checked it and I had an ultrasound, all LOOKED good. Well here I am 06/17/2009 and I have just made an appointment for removal! I feel like crap. I'm excessively bitchy, and I feel preggo! Bloated, crampy, and fatigued. I'm just tired of it. The nurse had told me I continue to have issues I can get it removed and then if I still have issues to go to my Primary Care Doctor. I know its the Mirena. I will just have to prove it when I have it taken out and I see her again for my yearly in Sept. The doctor is so sweet but the nurse makes me feel like I'm just complaining. I just hope I return to normal after. Can anyone email me who has had it taken out and tell me how you feel after? ****** Thanks!

Hi ....momma_melissa82, I had mines inserted 06/03/2009 and removed, 06/10/2009***** only 1 wk later..... after reading all the post here and having massive mood swings after having it in for only 2 days... I had to get it out before I caught an assault case (lol).

I was fine on wednesday & thursday but by friday ( day 2) i was bleeding very heavy with large clots, it was scary to see so much bleed.... then I got extremely blue/ depressed..... I felt like the world was cominng to an end... I isolated myself because I was snappy, irritable and just in a funk that I couldn't shake.....

I stopped bleeding heavy after about 3-4 days & its been dry every since... the feeling of depression has finally lifted but my breast are very tender and I could swear I saw a grey shadow of a beard under my chin ???? I'm not quite should but I shaved it anyway (lol)....

From what I read here, you might experience some heavy bleeding & depression or mood swings until the hormone is completely out of your system......It may take months to return to your normal self but you will eventaully be yourself again....
