My wife had Mirena for 2 weeks. Severe cramping. Went to her Dr. and he discovered it came loose and had gone into uterus. While in thee, ir perforated uterine lining. Last night she had Hyseeroscopy and lathroscopy to find where it had gone. It was found resting on top of her uterus. Again, if ALL side-effects had been communicated to us, she prob wouldn'tve wound up in the OR last night.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife's situation. I hope she is feeling better soon.

One thing you stated concerns me, however. Perforation and embeddment are the 2 side effects which ARE listed in the Mirena pamphlet. So you should have known about these for sure. (It's all the other side effects which Bayer and MDs fail to admit to). If you DID NOT know about these, you need to speak with the MD who placed it, because (s)he should have discussed the risks of perforation, cramping, and embeddment.

Good Luck.

Wow! I was thinking about getting mirena, but sounds like I don't even want to go there! Do you know of other symptoms she had?
