I had the mirena iud placed in on Dec 2008. I've had a period everyday since then. Sometimes light or very heavy, but always there. My worst side effects are: Lower back pain, so bad I can barely stand up and walk at times. Insomnia, so bad that during the day at work I'm falling asleep not even knowing. Until I jerk a wake. Itching all the time, its driving me crazy!
