I started taking Loestrin24fe on Sunday June 7th. That was the first day of my peroid. It is now 13 days later and I am still on my period. I am 44 yrs old and was put on this pill because my periods were so heavy. This is defeating the purpose. I want to quit taking them. I am anemic and think this is doing more harm than good. I am going to Hawaii on July 23rd and do not want to be on my period then. If I stop now, I am wondering when I will start my period again. I am really fed up.

I was sure I was the only one! I started taking Loestrin on the 1st, which was the first day of my period. It was the heaviest and most painful I've ever experienced, and lasted 2 whole weeks. My Gyno told me to stop taking it because I was experiencing a weird side effect -- my left arm kept feeling numb. But even after I stopped taking this pill, I got another period, not as heavy, but a regular period. It's now the 24th and I'm still bleeding!! Very lightly, but I've been having a period for 4 weeks now! I'm going to see my family doctor tomorrow because after having stopped taking this pill for more than 10 days now, my hormone levels should have gotten back to normal, but it's not.
