I can totally relate. I have been having some pains in my right side, just under my rib cage, along with all the other symptoms that others have had like anxiety, slight swelling, headaches, moodiness, etc. I was starting to think I had some kind of cancer. Now that I've found a couple of forums about Mirena side effects I am fairly certain it is all due to to this IUD. I think I am about ready to have it removed. It just sucks that it cost as much as it did.

FIrst off, i'm 22 and i'm going on my 5th year with mirena. The goods, i have had only spotting and that has been very little and have never gotten pregnant with it. I work in the medical field so i know how docs work..Women out there thinking that these other women are "finding something to blame things on", your wrong. Its mean of you to even say. Everyone, of course, is different(the way your body reacts)
Lets go back to before i got it. I was always happen, never overreacted, very thin. Now i am 20lbs heavier...btw i'm studying to be a nutritionist so im a healthfreak. I workout, eatright, and cannot seem to lose the weight. I'm moody now, handle things poorly, overreact easy, breathing problems, fatigue, bad cramps(not that often) and hair seems to grow quicker. I dont know if they all have to do with it, but i'm certain now the weight thing caused by it. Ive known this for awhile, but much rather be a bigger then pregnant at the moment. I plan on having it taken out in the next few months. It is unnatural and i want to be completely healthy and myself. Oh, and i also do not take any other medications. I dont agree with most of them, so i just stay away from them. I have been tested for tyroid problems(neg) and other various things. Everything neg. I also get discharge a lot with this. I KNOW that is from the mirena. Overall, i wouldn't tell someone not to get it cause i have never gotten pregnant and everyones body, like i said, reacts different. However, i'm almost certain that it is what is causing these effects on my body. I will post again a few months after i have it taken out and let you know for sure.
