I'm pleased to hear you have had a good experience. Of course most people seek out a forum like this because their experiences are bad so the opinions are always going to be overwhelmingly and disproportionately negative.

My objection is that the medical community (for the most part) refuses to accept that there are side effects in many women, sometimes debilitating.

One of my best friends gets the depo provera shot and thinks it's great; I had it twice a few years ago and thought it was awful - I was about to jump off a bridge. My body seems to react badly to synthetic progesterone. However, my friend was incredibly supportive of me (and believed me, which is most important) when I said the shot was awful, despite her thinking it was the best thing ever.

As you say, every woman's body is different .. best of luck and I hope this continues!

Oh - and what's this "sex drive" thing you mention? :)
