I have read the posts below and thank goodness I found this site!...

I AM GOING THROUGH THE AME THING, IT`S AWFUL MY SED RATE HAS BEEN HIGH FOR MONTHS HAD ALL KINDS OF BLOOD TESTS, PAIN STARTED IN LEFT KNEE, THEN MOVED TO RIGHT, HAD TWO CORTIOSONE SHOTS SECOND ONE, SEEM TO HAVE WORKED, IM ON PREDISONE AND CELEBREX, AND TYLENOL/CODEINE. NOW MY LEFT KNEE HAS BEEN KILLING ME FOR 3 WEEKS HAD A CORTISONE SHOT A WEEK AGO, AND NOTHING GOING THURSDAY FOR ANOTHER, HOPE IT WORKS, PAIN IS UNBEARABLE, I CAN`T THINK STRAIGHT, AND THEY STILL DON`T KNOW WHAT`S CAUSING THE INFLAMATION, I FEEL FOR YOU

I too had a cortisone shot on 6/17/09 in my neck. They had me ice for 2 days every 2 hrs and I felt fine. No side effects and felt pretty good after a few days almost no pain at all. Now a few weeks later I started getting migraine headaches. I usually get them for 2-3 days a month like clockwork but this month I've had a migraine for 7 straight days and one a couple days before the 7 straight days. They said headaches could happen right after the shot but can it happen a week or more after the shot? I will call the doc if it stays through the weekend. I have been having some mild hot flashes too which I thought were just hormone related but I wasn't having those before either! I was also very depressed almost a week after the shot for about 2 weeks but feel like i'm getting back to normal now. I donated blood a week after the shot and my cholestrol was high as well. Not sure if this is related to the shot as well! I would go to the doc if I was you having all those symptoms and let them know what's going on. Good luck and I hope we are all free of pain pretty soon!

Thanks for your comments, everyone! I saw a chiropractor because I was getting such bad migraines too. I still feel kind of funny in my head; not as clear thinking. The anxiety now only hits me once in a while - thank goodness! My spirits are better too. My chiro said to get my blood levels checked because she sees people at least once a week who have these symptoms after a cortisone shot and they end up being prediabetic or even diabetic. She's not saying the shot was actually the cause, but it might have been enough to trigger something in them that put them over the edge. I'm going to pursue it and see what happens.

I'm wondering if hyaluronic acid injections have given anyone these awful reactions/symptoms?

Yes, I am hoping this will pass for all of us, and we will be healthier and wiser in the near future! :-)

I feel so relieved after reading your post. Maybe I'm not going crazy after all. Shortly after my 1st cortizone shot in my ankle, I experienced some night sweats and insomnia. Also I felt my heartrate increase, but it felt more like adrenaline or energy surge. Even tho, it wasn't unbearable and only lasted a few days to a week. A month & and half later I received the 2nd shot. Initially I felt relief and no side effects. About a week after the 2nd shot I started having huge anxiety, a headache for a week, insomnia, and pounding, almost irregular heart rate that I could feel and hear in my chest. It's been 4wks since the last shot and I still feel the side effects. No one warned me that this could happen and until I read your post, I thought I was having some serious psychological disturbance. I'm sorry you are experiencing the same thing and hope and pray that this subsides for us both very soon!

I had an injection in my hip about 5 days ago and have been having terrible anxiety, heart palpitations and trouble sleeping, hot flashes, flushed face. It's so uncomfortable that it would take any awful lot to get me to take another shot. My pain is gone in my hip, but I'm not sure I would ever have another shot. The anxiety is making it hard for me to work and I have a quite demanding job. Thanks for listening.
