After taking Loestrin24 Fe for about 4 months, I was hospitalized with pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs). The doctors told me the clots were caused by Loestrin, as I am otherwise healthy. Generally, the blood clots start in the legs, causing pain and swelling. Then they break off and go to the lungs, where they can be very harmful. Have you told your doctor about your leg pain? If not, I'd call her right away. She can do a D-Dimer blood test to check for possible clots. Good luck

I have also been taking them for bleeding control and it is horrible. I have been bleeding for 14 days, cramping,bloated, and I feel miserably weak. I am not going to continue to take these opills, especially if this is what I have to look forward to next month.

i am very shocked to hear of these side effects of loestrin. i am in the middle of my 3rd pack with them. its scary to hear that most of you guys are having leg cramps, fast heart beat and spotting. ive been scared that i was pregnant again, but, now im thinking its these pills. isnt there someone we can contact at the company about these crazy side effects?? i was on bc for 15 years and NEVER experienced such obvious side effects as i have with these 3 packs of loestrin. any helpful info is welcome.
